[puppy turned wolf]
a shift story.
{ werewolf!hinata shouyo x reader }
*both the reader and hinata are first years, but they're in different classes.
*the dog being described is a shiba inu.

Important note to keep in mind: Normal members of the pack retain their eye colours. Alpha's eyes become electric blue, and they stay that way, wolf form or not, and will keep those eyes until the title of Alpha is taken away, or they die. Just assume that the Alpha of Hinata's and Kageyama's pack are unnamed. It's not really important. One attain's the title of Alpha by proving that they are fit to be Alpha. (To who???WHOKNOWS???)

Your [e/c] eyes drifted to the dark grey skies, and you tilted your [f/c] umbrella just slightly so some rain could fall on your face. One landed right on your [s/c] cheek, and you winced; some of the water droplets landing near your sparkling [e/c] eyes. You had just finished your after school club activity, [club], and you were walking home when, just your luck, it had started to rain.
You continued to walk, as other people scurried past you in their suits and ties and dress pants; desperate to get home before they could get rained on. Some poor souls weren't fortunate to bring umbrellas, and suffered the consequences, sprinting past you with newspapers covering their heads. [E/c] eyes fell onto your skirt, and you unsurely adjusted it with your small hands, noticing that one side seemed to be hiking up as you had walked.
This had caused you to pause in front of an alley, and scurry into it a few feet in, as you readjusted your skirt, trying to make it even on all of the sides. You craned your head to look at your backside, before giving a reaffirming nod as you saw that you saw nothing of your zebra spandex. (In your defense, it was always nice to wear spandex under your skirts and dresses---and they just so happened to be zebra. They were on clearance, okay?)
As you peered around the corner, a small whimper came from behind you, and you whipped your head to look at what was behind you.
A small dog dog with an orangey coat and a poofy tail walked up to you, soaked with rain, his normally luscious (or what you assumed to be) locks had been tapered with mud and grease, and a sad expression was on his face. He had bright brown eyes, which looked a little out of place on him, but you said nothing about them. Coos escaped your lips as you knelt on the wet cement, wincing at the fact that the cold hard ground you had fell on you fell on quite harshly, but you held out our hand out to the dog nonetheless.
"C'mere buddy," you whispered over the sounds of the rain, as thunder clapped and he whimpered lightly, before approaching your hand catiously. He nuzzled his furry head into your hand. "What's your name?"
Something seemed to spark, hardly enough for you to notice, as you continued to pet him comfortingly, and he sat his butt on the damp concrete. "Well, I know you can't speak, but my name is [Full Name]. I go to Karasuno, and I'm a first year."
Happy yips came as he stood up again, practically on cloud nine, before tackling you to the ground, licking your face happily. God, his breath stank, but he was still adorable.
"Do you have a home, little guy?"
A frown was placed on your face as he whimpered once again, as you pushed him off, and a sigh escaped your lips. You held the umbrella over him so the water from the rain wouldn't hit him, and he seemed to flash you a relieved smile.

"There you go!" You finished drying off the fluffy dog, who had a sparkling aura around him as he yipped happily. "You're clean and fluffy and cute now, just like you should be!" A smile crept onto your lips as the dog panted happily, his fluffy little tail pounding on the brown leather of your couch. "I'm not sure what you should eat...what do you want to eat?"
He tilted his head to the side lightly, as if unsure of the question. A whimper escaped his throat, as he stretched out onto the couch, his eyes closing.
"I guess...that means you're not eating," you said, a disapproving look on your face as you gave a half glare to the shiba inu, who simply let out a quiet, aloof bark, before settling his head down onto the couch. You sighed again for what seemed like the hundredth time that day as you finally sat down on your butt, after having knelt on your [carpet/rug/floor type??] of your living room for more than you'd have liked. You pulled your black bookbag close to you, as you flipped the TV on with the remote. Said TV was in the corner of the living room, the glass coffee table a few feet away from it, and the couch close behind it, all facing the television.
Some program you didn't quite recognize or seen before was on, but you were too tired to care. A small yawn escaped your lips as you pulled your homework onto the table, as you opened the first workbook, the words swirled around, making it next to impossible to read. You may or may not have taken advantage of the fact that your parents were currently working in Tokyo, but you had stayed behind to finish your education, and they had bought a house out there. You had stayed in Miyagi, not wanting to be the new kid at Tokyo.
And so you might have taken it upon yourself to go on the computer or read up until three or four am, practically murdering any chance you had at sleep.
So, it shouldn't have been a surprise when you face planted into your workbook, falling asleep.
The shiba inu was quick to notice this, as he sat up, using his front paws to prop himself up, a small whimper escaping his throat once again. He barked to try and wake you up, but it was futile, as you slept basically like a rock.

You awakened to the feeling of someone running their hand through your [h/c] locks. A small moan escaped your throat, as the the fact that you didn't really want to wake up.
"[Name], wake up," someone muttered into your ear, as your drowsy [e/c] eyes slowly opened, only to be met with a face of bright orange hair. Brown, happy eyes looked into yours, and you frowned.
A laugh came from him that was soon cut off.
By your earsplitting scream.
"Who the fuck are you?" You scrambled back, eyes wide in confusion, but not fear. The kid couldn't have been very dangerous; considering the fact that he was wearing your Ice Dragon t-shir-
"You're wearing my Hyourinmaru t-shirt!!" You stood up, pointing an accusing finger at him.
"I needed something to wear, and it was the only thing that you had that would fit me!" He was quick to defend himself and protest, pulling it down to his knees.
"What the fuck are you wearing as pants then?"
A blush crossed over his face, as he struggled to pull it down more. "Y-You had boxers f-for some reason, a-and I don't know why," they were your parents, "a-and... I'm wearing your shorts."
Silence.
The blush that was on the orange boy's face was soon mirrored on yours. "You're wearing my shorts?"
"They're sweat shorts, I swear!"
"How'd you even get into my house?!"
At this the boy paused, before sitting down on the couch, a small whimper escaping his throat. You were quick to notice it, as your eyebrows furrowed. "You sound like the dog I took in. Speaking of...where is he?"
Hinata raised a small hand, giving a small wave. "Hi, I'm the...the dog. I'm Hinata, by the way."
"You're a dog?" You deadpanned.
"No, I'm actually, like, a werewolf," he said, holding his hands out as if he was unsure if you'd understand.
"No, I'm pretty sure you're a fucking dog!! You're insane. This is insane." You gestured to him, and all around you. "I picked 'you' up, and you were a Shiba Inu. Not a wolf."
"I'm a werewolf, I swear! I have my own pack and everything, and---"
"You're a dog. You don't turn into a wolf, you turn into a fucking dog. Not even, you turn into a puppy."
An embarrassed blush crossed his face, as he fiddled with the edge of his skirt, . "I-I...I-I can't turn into a wolf like most of my pack can. Not yet. But when I do, I'll be the strongest of them all!"
Your gaze softened towards the boy, as you sat next to him, your [e/c] eye's gaze on your lap. "I see," you said, a smile growing onto your lips. "Well, make sure you turn into a wolf soon, I don't wanna have to take care of you again," you said, winking at him.
"By the way...it's nice to meet you, Hinata."
"You too, [Name]."

Your point lands on Tsukishima Kei, as Hinata makes a face. "He's a jerk."
"No shit, but seriously, like, what is he?"
"A vampire." He made hissing sounds, before putting his hands up to his mouth, letting his index fingers pretend to be fangs. Your [e/c] eyes widened in delight, as you clapped. "But you can't go near him, alright?"
"Boooring," you said, as you sighed lightly, running a hand through your hair. "Have fun at practice, alright? I'm gonna go home now."
"It's kinda late, are you sure you don't want me to walk you home?"
You shake your head, giving him a small wave. "Good luck!"
"Thanks! I'll see you tomorrow!"
You wave to the boy, as you bump into a boy with raven hair, known as Kageyama. "Oh, sorry, Kageyama!"
"Watch where you're going, next time," he snapped out, as you glared him.
"Excuse me?" You gave him an irritated look, your back facing the gym, as you crossed your arms over your chest. "I said sorry, but this is just as much your fault as it is mine."
"So, I don't ca--" The first year stopped, as his eyes flickered to Hinata, who was still stretching out on the floor. He locked eyes with Kageyama, his eyes narrowing dangerously, a small growl emitting from his throat, as his eyes flashed a brilliant electric blue, obviously scaring him more than it should have. "Sorry, [Last Name]." His voice was stiff, as you rolled your eyes, and turned back to your best friend, who was currently still stretching. "See you, Hinata!"
"See you later, [Name]!" He called out, happily, his eyes already the normal brown that they usually were, as Kageyama stormed up to the bright orange haired boy, who hopped up, as Kageyama grabbed him by the collar, earning him a confused look from Kei. (Daichi had run off to go get something from the classroom.)
"What the hell were you thinking? [Name] could have seen and found out that you're a werewolf, dumbass!" Kageyama looked him over with his orbs, narrowing his eyes.
"Funniest thing---"
"---she already knows," Tsukishima said flatly, and uninterested, bouncing the volleyball in his hand. "Keep you and your mutt speak outside, got it?"
"Shut up, Tsukishima," Kageyama snapped. "I have my pack, you stay to your...whatever you call it."
He rolled his golden eyes, a comeback escaping his mouth as soon as Kageyama had finished, who let go of Hinata's collar, and stormed up to the latter vampire.
Hinata's ears pricked up, as the quiet sobs creeped into his ears. "[Name]?" He called out, confusion on his face
"Looks like one of your pack members went delusional, King!" Tsukishima called out, as Hinata's brown orbs flashed electric blue for the second time that day, and he gave the blonde a hollow look, which made him shiver.
"Don't you hear that, guys? It's [Name]. I don't know what you're doing," the look remained the same as he looked away, and he tilted his head, his electric blue eye's still on the floor, before they flickered back up to the two taller boys, "arguing, when she's in danger. So you're going to help me find her. Right?" His voice was dangerously low, and he glanced them over. "Right?"
The two stood rigid.
"Yup, definitely."
"Of course, why wouldn't we?"
The tiny middle blocker sprinted out of the gym, as Kageyama shivered.
"Do you know what that means when your eyes are electric blue, Tsukishima?" He asked quietly, his eyes on the floor.
"Of course, I'm not an idiot. It means...that they're the Alpha. The leader of their pack."
Hinata sprinted and sprinted, listening as your sobs grew louder and louder, feeling his body slowly and slowly get smaller, but gain speed at the same time, his hearing becoming sharper and sharper, before he was running on all fours, and his volleyball uniform was abandoned. He ran and ran, running past storefronts, and he dared to look at the windows.
And he saw his reflection. A full blown wolf, electric blue eyes to go with his new form.
The sound of your cries snapped him out of whatever shock he was, as he sprinted forward again, ignoring the shocked looks of the few people he passed by in the street, before the street turned into forest.
The green grass itched his furry legs, but he made no move to stop because of it.
Protect [Name]. Save [Name]. Save her, save her, save her!!
The werewolf with a light brown fur coat skidded to a stop in front of you, the guy who was in front of you looking like he had just seen a ghost. The knife he held in his hand wavered, as Hinata stepped closer, a guttural growl emitting from his throat, baring his fangs, fully prepared to hurt the asshole if needed. He had a purple snapback on, white, dirtied basketball shorts, and a dark green sweatshirt that reminded him of puke. His hands trembled at the sight of the werewolf, before he tossed the blade in his hand onto the ground, leaving faster than you could blink.
You sighed with relief, wiping the corner of your eyes, before you froze.
A wolf.
A fullblown wolf was in front of you, and he looked dangerous.
"H-Hey there..." You said, a small, scared smile coming to your chapped lips, as you licked them and swallowed nervously. "Don't hurt me, alright buddy? Can we do that? I-I'm actually f-friends with a w-wolf," you said, babbling to the creature, who stepped forward towards you, his electric blue eyes boring holes into you, as you stepped backwards, and a branch snapped underfoot, making you shriek, and land on your ass. "I-I actually have a crush on the wolf, s-so you can't kill me, alright?" You nod pathetically, tears streaming down your face, wiping them away with the top of your hand, before slapping it back down onto the grounds of the forest. The wolf tilted his head to the side in confusion, before he pounced on you.
And started licking away your tears, and your face in the process.
"Hey, that tickles, s-stop it!!" You exclaimed, trying to push him off of you, before he finally sat down on his butt, letting you sit up. As your blurry vision from the tears cleared up, you furrowed your brows lightly. "You look familiar," you mumbled, holding your hand out to the wolf, going into pet him, before he nuzzled into your hand happily. "Who are you?"
You blinked blankly, and so did Hinata, a small whimper escaping his throat. Damn this wolf form. I'm me, I'm right here, [Name]!!
Slowly, but ever so surely, you brought your face closer to the wolf, placing your hand under his chin, studying the wolf more, turning his head side to side to examine him. "Hinata?"
You blinked your [e/c] eyes one more time, and as you opened them, a naked Hinata sat in front of you, making you screech.
"Put some clothes on, for crying out loud!" Covering your eyes, you search for your book bag blindly, the one you had dropped against the tree, before grabbing onto the handle, and smacking him in the face. "They're in there, just, jesus fuck kid!"
Still covering your eyes, you waited for your crush to finish changing, before a chirping little, "Done," came from the short boy, at which you finally dropped your left hand, before looking the boy over. He was dressed in sweatpants and a white t-shirt. "I keep your clothes in my bag in case you shift and then..."
"...I need the clothes. Right. Thanks."
A small blush came to both of your faces as you both stood there awkwardly, as you shifted uncomfortably.
"[Name]...who were you talking about when you said you had a crush on a wolf?"

So you're going to help me find her. Right?" His voice was dangerously low, and he glanced them over. "Right?"
The two stood rigid.
"Yup, definitely."
"Of course, why wouldn't we?"
The tiny middle blocker sprinted out of the gym, as Kageyama shivered.
"Do you know what that means when your eyes are electric blue, Tsukishima?" He asked quietly, his eyes on the floor.
"Of course, I'm not an idiot. It means...that they're the Alpha. The leader of their pack."
Hinata sprinted and sprinted, listening as your sobs grew louder and louder, feeling his body slowly and slowly get smaller, but gain speed at the same time, his hearing becoming sharper and sharper, before he was running on all fours, and his volleyball uniform was abandoned. He ran and ran, running past storefronts, and he dared to look at the windows.
And he saw his reflection. A full blown wolf, electric blue eyes to go with his new form.
The sound of your cries snapped him out of whatever shock he was, as he sprinted forward again, ignoring the shocked looks of the few people he passed by in the street, before the street turned into forest.
The green grass itched his furry legs, but he made no move to stop because of it.
Protect [Name]. Save [Name]. Save her, save her, save her!!
The werewolf with a light brown fur coat skidded to a stop in front of you, the guy who was in front of you looking like he had just seen a ghost. The knife he held in his hand wavered, as Hinata stepped closer, a guttural growl emitting from his throat, baring his fangs, fully prepared to hurt the asshole if needed. He had a purple snapback on, white, dirtied basketball shorts, and a dark green sweatshirt that reminded him of puke. His hands trembled at the sight of the werewolf, before he tossed the blade in his hand onto the ground, leaving faster than you could blink.
You sighed with relief, wiping the corner of your eyes, before you froze.
A wolf.
A fullblown wolf was in front of you, and he looked dangerous.
"H-Hey there..." You said, a small, scared smile coming to your chapped lips, as you licked them and swallowed nervously. "Don't hurt me, alright buddy? Can we do that? I-I'm actually f-friends with a w-wolf," you said, babbling to the creature, who stepped forward towards you, his electric blue eyes boring holes into you, as you stepped backwards, and a branch snapped underfoot, making you shriek, and land on your ass. "I-I actually have a crush on the wolf, s-so you can't kill me, alright?" You nod pathetically, tears streaming down your face, wiping them away with the top of your hand, before slapping it back down onto the grounds of the forest. The wolf tilted his head to the side in confusion, before he pounced on you.
And started licking away your tears, and your face in the process.
"Hey, that tickles, s-stop it!!" You exclaimed, trying to push him off of you, before he finally sat down on his butt, letting you sit up. As your blurry vision from the tears cleared up, you furrowed your brows lightly. "You look familiar," you mumbled, holding your hand out to the wolf, going into pet him, before he nuzzled into your hand happily. "Who are you?"
You blinked blankly, and so did Hinata, a small whimper escaping his throat. Damn this wolf form. I'm me, I'm right here, [Name]!!
Slowly, but ever so surely, you brought your face closer to the wolf, placing your hand under his chin, studying the wolf more, turning his head side to side to examine him. "Hinata?"
You blinked your [e/c] eyes one more time, and as you opened them, a naked Hinata sat in front of you, making you screech.
"Put some clothes on, for crying out loud!" Covering your eyes, you search for your book bag blindly, the one you had dropped against the tree, before grabbing onto the handle, and smacking him in the face. "They're in there, just, jesus fuck kid!"
Still covering your eyes, you waited for your crush to finish changing, before a chirping little, "Done," came from the short boy, at which you finally dropped your left hand, before looking the boy over. He was dressed in sweatpants and a white t-shirt. "I keep your clothes in my bag in case you shift and then..."
"...I need the clothes. Right. Thanks."
A small blush came to both of your faces as you both stood there awkwardly, as you shifted uncomfortably.
"[Name]...who were you talking about when you said you had a crush on a wolf?"
You stood rigid, as you looked away from him. "Well, I only know you, rig---"
The werewolf boy pulled you down to his height, crashing his lips into yours in a bruising, loving kiss.
"I know," he said, a small blush on his face. "I just wanted to hear you say it."
A few moments of him hugging your form close to him, and he finally mumbled the words you had been waiting for.
"Will you be my girlfriend?"
"Hmmm...no."
"W-What? Why not?"
"You have dog breath."
"W-What?! No way!"
"Kidding, loverboy."
